Course - Paediatric First Aid

Level 3

This qualification is designed for those who may be required to administer first aid to children and infants as part of their professional or voluntary role. For child carers, the course meets the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements and partly fulfils the legal obligations under the statutory framework for the Early Year’s Foundation Stage issued by the Department for Education and Skills.

Level 2

This course is over one day and has an abridged content which may suit parents and families with young children or those who do not require the full Level 3 qualification.

 

Course content (Level 3):

Legislation                                                                      Breaks, burns and bleeding

Conscious & Unconscious casualty                             Poisoning, seizures and stroke

CPR & recovery position                                               Anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetes

Shock,                                                                             Eye, ear and nose injuries

Choking                                                                           Child specific ailments

Head injuries                                                                  Minor injuries

 

Duration:

Level 3 – 2 days (12 hours)                                           Price available upon application

Level 2 – 1 day (6 hours)                                               Delivered on site for up to 12 delegates
